Separation of Fluorite from Sulfide Ore
Generally speaking, fluorite containing sulphide ores is generally floated by xanthate collector, then add aliphatic acid collector to flotation fluorite. A small amount of sulphide mineral inhibitor can be added to the flotation of fluorite to inhibit the residual sulphide minerals, so as to ensure the quality of fluorite concentrate.
Separation of Fluorite from Barite
In general, fluorite and barite are mixed flotation, and then separated. When mixed flotation, oleic acid is used as collector to get mixed concentrate. The mixed concentrate can be separated by direct flotation or reverse flotation to get fluorite concentrate.
Separation of Fluorite from Quartz
Fluorite is collected with aliphatic acids and quartz is inhibited by sodium silicate. The dosage of sodium silicate should be properly controlled. A small amount of sodium silicate can activate fluorite, but it can not inhibit quartz sufficiently. Excessive amount of sodium silicate can inhibit fluorite. Sometimes, in order to enhance the inhibition of sodium silicate on quartz, some polyvalent metal ions are added, which not only inhibits quartz but also calcite.
